Joe & Virginia Keller Cart Path Dedication Set For July 17

The Keller family invites anyone who wishes to attend the dedication to join them on Sunday, July 17 at 10:00 am.

Joe & Virginia Keller were members of Crestwood Country Club for 59 years. Joe had five hole-in-ones, two on #5, his favorite hole. Joe played golf into his early 90’s and hit his last hole-in-one at age 83, witnessed by his sons. He shot an 85 at age 86, they celebrated that round!

Virginia was an ambassador for the game of golf. She made sure most of her children went through Muggy Messenger’s junior golf program. Virginia was a long standing member of the ladies golf association. As her family expanded, she encouraged them all to pick up the game of golf. Both believed golf taught their children important lessons in life, respect, discipline and honesty. She also enjoyed the social aspects of the club and spent many weekends entertaining family and friends. Virginia was also involved in planning many 4th of July celebrations and junior golf events. Her children even learned to ice skate on the pond. Joe would build a big bonfire and they would skate for hours.

While eating lunch a few years ago at the club, Joe decided he wanted to do something for the club. He wanted something that would last a long time with little maintenance. He then decided he would replace the cart path on hole #5 with concrete. After discussions and planning with Todd, plans were made to replace the paths on #5 & #6.

Virginia hated that big old elm tree that used to stand in the middle of the fairway on hole #6. She often said that the reason it died was because she hit it so many “damn” times.

The Keller family presents to members, friends and staff of Crestwood Country Club in honor of Joe and Virginia Keller new cart paths on holes #5 & #6.
